Discover Lotus’ new Eletre X plug‑in hybrid SUV with 900 hp, 1,400 km total range and advanced tech – learn more and stay tuned for its Vietnam launch!
Lotus has hit a historic milestone, rolling out its first plug‑in hybrid electric (PHEV) SUV – the Eletre X – initially for the Chinese market. Branded locally as “Lotus For Me,” the model starts at ¥508,000 (≈ US$73,500) and is set to expand to other regions, including a planned launch in Vietnam in early Q2.
Size, Capability and Practicality
With a length of over 5,100 mm and a 3,019 mm wheelbase, the Eletre X is a full‑size SUV. It can tow up to 2,250 kg and offers a generous 688 L cargo volume, making it as functional as it is thrilling.

Powertrain – 900 V X‑Hybrid Architecture
The Eletre X is built on Lotus’s new X‑Hybrid platform, featuring a high‑voltage 900 V system that pairs a 2.0‑liter turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors. Together they deliver a staggering 700 kW (≈ 939 hp). Despite weighing more than three tonnes, the SUV rockets from 0–100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Even with the battery at only 10 % charge, the power output remains around 737 hp.
Electric‑Only Range and Combined Mileage
The 70 kWh NMC battery provides up to 420 km of pure electric driving (CLTC cycle). Coupled with a 52‑liter fuel tank, the combined range can reach an impressive 1,416 km, meaning the vehicle can travel more than 1,400 km on a single fuel‑plus‑charge cycle.
Trim Levels and Technology
- Standard trim (¥508,000): Dual‑chamber air suspension, 21‑inch alloy wheels, Level‑2 driver assistance with a 128‑line LiDAR sensor, a premium interior featuring 23 KEF speakers, and Nvidia Drive Thor‑U chipset delivering 700 TOPS of processing power.
- SE trim (¥558,000): Adds Navigate‑on‑Autopilot (NOA) self‑driving capability, a 48 V active anti‑roll bar, a full‑panoramic glass roof, and an optional four‑seat configuration with executive rear seats equipped with massage, heating and ventilation functions.
What About the Vietnamese Market?
Lotus has signaled its intention to bring the brand to Vietnam early in the second quarter, though it remains unclear whether the Eletre X PHEV will be part of the initial lineup. If it arrives, the model will join an elite group of high‑end PHEV SUVs, standing alongside the Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes‑Benz EQS in a fiercely competitive segment.
Looking Ahead
The Eletre X showcases Lotus’s ambition to blend supercar DNA with cutting‑edge hybrid technology. Its combination of near‑megawatt power, long total range and luxurious amenities positions it as a serious contender in the burgeoning luxury PHEV market.
