Mazda took center stage at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) with the first public appearance of its new CX‑6e. Positioned between the well‑known CX‑5 and CX‑8, the CX‑6e promises a premium all‑electric experience, a strikingly minimalist design, and a range that pushes 600 kilometres on a single charge.

Design language and size
Built on Mazda’s EPA platform, the CX‑6e measures 4,850 mm in length with a 2,902 mm wheelbase – a sweet spot that gives it a larger stance than the CX‑5 while staying more agile than the CX‑8. The exterior follows a clean‑line philosophy, featuring hidden door handles and sleek, aerodynamic cues that reduce drag. A standout front fascia showcases a split‑light cluster and a glowing Mazda logo set against a blacked‑out grille, while 21‑inch alloy wheels add a bold visual punch.

Cabin technology that feels futuristic
Inside, Mazda has gone all‑in on digital immersion. The centerpiece is a 26.45‑inch 5K touchscreen that serves as the infotainment hub, delivering crisp visuals for navigation, media and vehicle controls. Complementing the screen is an AR‑HUD that projects a 50‑inch virtual windshield display, with an optional 3D HUD that mimics a 100‑inch screen for a truly cinematic driving experience.

Other premium touches include a D‑cut, dual‑spoke steering wheel, a 23‑speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, and power‑adjustable seats equipped with heating, cooling and massage functions – all aimed at elevating comfort on longer journeys.

Performance, battery and range
The pure‑electric (BEV) version showcased in Thailand is powered by a 255 hp electric motor coupled with a 77.94 kWh battery pack, delivering an estimated WLTP‑type range of around 600 km per charge. For drivers who occasionally need a gasoline boost, Mazda also offers an E‑REV variant that adds a 1.5 L petrol engine acting as a generator, extending flexibility for longer trips.

Advanced safety and driver assistance
Safety is anchored by a Level‑2 ADAS suite, featuring adaptive cruise control, lane‑keeping assist and automatic parking. These systems work together to reduce driver fatigue and enhance confidence, especially in heavy traffic or on highways.

Market outlook and availability
Following a similar rollout to the Mazda 6e – showcased at BIMS 2025 and launched globally in 2024 – the CX‑6e is expected to move from concept to production within the next year, targeting Southeast Asian markets first. Its blend of spaciousness, cutting‑edge tech and a competitive electric range positions it as a serious contender in the fast‑growing premium EV SUV segment.

With the automotive world increasingly electrifying, Mazda’s CX‑6e could become the brand’s flagship for environmentally conscious drivers who still crave style and performance.
