First Look at the Geely EX2
The Chinese automaker Geely showcased its newest city‑focused electric SUV, the EX2, at the Bangkok International Motor Show 2026. Available in two trims – Pro and Max – the model emphasizes practical range, a generous tech package and an approachable price point for emerging markets.

Exterior Design and Dimensions
Built on a compact B‑segment platform, the EX2 measures 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide and 1,580 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. The front and rear track widths sit at 1,555 mm and 1,575 mm respectively, providing stable handling in tight city streets. Ground clearance ranges from 162 mm (unloaded) to 130 mm (fully loaded), and the turning circle is a tight 4.95 m.

Both trims feature full‑LED lighting – headlights, daytime running lights and taillights – plus a third‑brake light and auto‑dimming rear fog lamps. The Max version adds automatic high‑beam switching. Wheel options differ: the Pro comes with 15‑inch steel wheels wrapped in 205/65 R15 tires, while the Max steps up to 16‑inch alloy wheels with 205/60 R16 tyres. Power‑folding electrically‑adjusted side mirrors are standard.

Cabin, Infotainment and Comfort
Inside, Geely embraces a minimalist aesthetic anchored by a 14.6‑inch central touchscreen running the Flyme Auto OS. An 8.8‑inch LCD instrument cluster sits behind the wheel. Both screens support Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Audio offerings differ by trim: the Pro is equipped with four speakers, while the Max receives a six‑speaker setup. Standard climate control includes rear vents, a smart key with remote start, power windows and a 70‑litre front storage compartment. The Max adds 4G connectivity, wireless phone charging, multi‑colour ambient lighting and rear‑seat USB ports.

Seating is upholstered in synthetic leather. The driver’s seat is manually adjustable in six directions on the Pro and electrically on the Max; the front passenger seat offers four‑way manual adjustment. Rear seats fold in a 60:40 split to expand cargo capacity, which grows from 375 L to 1,320 L when the rear bench is folded.

Powertrain, Performance and Battery
The EX2 is powered by a permanent‑magnet synchronous motor mounted on the rear axle, delivering 85 kW (≈114 hp) and 150 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0‑100 km/h is achieved in 11.5 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 130 km/h. Drivers can select from three modes – Eco, Comfort and Sport – to tailor power delivery.

Energy comes from a 39.4 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) battery, offering an NEDC‑rated range of up to 395 km (≈325 km WLTP). The car supports up to 6.6 kW AC charging and 70 kW DC fast charging (CCS2), punching the charge from 30 % to 80 % in roughly 25 minutes. A V2L (vehicle‑to‑load) function and regenerative braking further enhance everyday usability.

Safety Suite and Advanced Driver‑Assistance
Both trims come with a baseline safety package: ABS, electronic brake‑force distribution, emergency‑brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, hill‑start assist, hill‑descent control, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, tyre‑pressure monitoring, rear‑view camera and rear‑ward sensors.

The Max trim upgrades to a full‑ADAS suite that includes adaptive cruise control, forward‑collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane‑departure warning, lane‑keeping assist, blind‑spot detection, rear‑cross‑traffic alert, traffic‑sign recognition and up to six airbags.

Pricing, Launch Plans and Market Position
At the Bangkok show, Geely listed the EX2 starting at THB 459,990 (about US$13,200). In Vietnam, the vehicle is expected to debut on 27 March 2026 with pricing projected between VND 500 million and VND 550 million (roughly US$21,000‑$23,000), positioning it as an affordable entry‑level EV for city dwellers.

With its spacious cabin, generous tech features and a competitive price, the Geely EX2 aims to attract first‑time EV buyers and urban families looking for a practical, connected, and eco‑friendly mobility solution.
